DEP Announces New Business Portal
DEP has created a new business portal to make all 57 public access tools reachable from one place. Simplifying the search for information – business tools, licenses, reservations and subscriptions can now all be easily navigated from one spot.
- In addition to existing resources such as the on-line self-certification authorizations for docks and yard trash facilities, DEP has added new services to this portal, further enhancing online access by the public and making DEP’s work more transparent.
- DEP’s new portal also allows for registration renewal and on-line payment of registration fees using an acceptable credit card. Applicants can do business electronically and receive an automatic issuance of the registration.
The business portal also allows users to sign up for agency subscription services such as agency newsletters, publications and permit notifications as well as make campsite reservations at Florida’s 160 state parks.
- In the coming months additional authorizations will be added to the portal including used oil transporters and waste tire collectors.
One feature of the new portal is the inclusion of the ability to obtain self-service authorizations across all of DEP’s regulatory programs.
- Applicants can reasonably receive their authorization within 30 minutes.
The first phase of the business portal includes the following new Environmental Resources Permitting (ERP) authorizations:
- Exemption for construction of a new single-family dock.
- Exemption for repair and replacement of a single-family dock.
- Exemption for installation of a boat lift at a single-family dock.
- Exemption for construction of a new single-family dock and installation of a boat lift.
- Noticed General Permit for installation of rip rap along the face of an existing seawall.
If you have any questions or need assistance navigating the portal or applying for your self-service authorization please contact your local DEP Regulatory Office.
